After being hospitalized with a rare undiagnosed autoimmune condition called Behcets Disease, Andrea contracted a bacterial infection while in the hospital. Although hospital contracted illnesses are all too common in our healthcare system, Andrea’s body, already in a weakened state, was unable to fight off the infection. After numerous life support measures were implemented to sustain her, and at one point what appeared as a moment of hope in a tireless fight, Andrea surrendered. In the early morning hours of Jan. 16, 2024, after 24 days in the hospital, Andrea finally let go.
Undoubtedly, Andrea’s unexpected loss has devastated not only her family, but all those who knew and loved her. Out of pure love for my sister and a healing need to keep her legacy alive, my family and I created the Andrea Mychaels Performing Arts Foundation. AMPAF celebrates Andrea's lifelong commitment and dedication to the arts by providing scholarships and financial support to performing arts students and performing arts organizations.
AMPAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Your donation will help make a difference in the lives of performing arts students by unburdening them financially so they can continue their performing arts education.
